FAQ

We get it, power products can feel a little technical. That’s why we keep our answers simple, straight, and useful. No jargon, no shenanigans. Just clear info so you can plug in, power up, and get back to the fun stuff.

What is the continuous runtime on a full tank?

Runtime depends on the load you put on the generator—just like miles per gallon in a truck. Here’s what you can expect under typical conditions:

2200i – 1.1 gallon capacity. Up to 8–10 hours at 25% load, 5–6 hours at 50% load.
3300i – 1.53 gallon capacity. Around 7–9 hours at 25% load, 5–6 hours at 50% load.
4500ies – 2.1 gallon capacity. Roughly 8 hours at 25% load, 6–7 hours at 50% load.

👉 Translation: Enough to keep the tailgate going all game, the RV cozy all night, or the fridge cold through an outage. For longer hauls, our dual-fuel models let you switch to propane for even more runtime flexibility.

How loud is it?

Noise matters, especially at a campsite or tailgate. That’s why Flex Power inverter generators are engineered to run whisper-quiet, meeting all National Park Service standards for sound.

2200i – Around 49 dB(A) (quieter than the level of a normal conversation).
3300i – Around 52 dB(A) under typical load.
4500ies – Around 54 dB(A), depending on load, still quieter than open-frame units in this class.

👉 Translation: These models are quiet enough to keep the peace at the campsite, game day, or in the driveway during a power outage. You’ll hear the crowd, or even the chirp of a cricket (100 db(a) over the hum of Flex Power generators!

What’s up with watts? Starting vs. running watts.

Generators speak their own language when it comes to power, so here’s the breakdown:

Starting/Maximum Watts – The quick burst of power your generator provides to kickstart big appliances or tools. Think of it like the “jump” a fridge or A/C needs the second it turns on. This peak ceiling can be hit to provide burst power, but don't push past it.
Running Watts – The steady output your generator delivers hour after hour. This is the power you actually live on. Keeping the lights on, fridge cold, and tailgate TV humming.

👉 At Flex Power, we size our units with these numbers in mind, so you don’t have to do guesswork. Plug in, power up, and relax. Whether it’s game day, camp night, or a stormy outage.

Nice and light weight but uses a lot of gas. Can't get more than 4-1/2 hours run time. Bought to replace my on-board RV Onan 4000 genset. Was under the impression that I could go all night without refueling. A larger
fueling option would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bill, thanks for sharing your feedback. We appreciate your input on the fuel capacity and run time. The Flex Power 3300i has a 5.8 L (approximately 1.53 US gallons) fuel tank. At a moderate (50%) load, you can expect approximately 6 to 7 hours of run time on a full tank. Running lighter loads will extend this runtime, while running closer to the generator's maximum output will shorten it. Please let us know if your unit does not provide that!
